Their contributions help strengthen and expand Health First's level of service to our patients and our community. Gifts were used to improve and renovate hospital facilities, purchase life-saving medical equipment, enhance patient care, provide continuing nursing education, offer caregiver support and grief counseling for families, as well as provide and award scholarships for students pursuing degrees related to the medical field.
In fiscal year 2014, more than 3,500 individuals, foundations, corporations, and other organizations supported the Health First Foundation. These contributions helped strengthen and expand healthcare outreach and critical services for our community. Gifts were used to improve and renovate hospital facilities, purchase life-saving medical equipment and technologies, provide patient wellness information, fund scholarships for healthcare education, offer caregiver resources and support, provide grief counseling for children and families who have lost a loved one, as well as provide assistance for indigent patients.
In fiscal year 2015, more than 4,200 individuals, foundations, corporations and other organizations supported the mission and vision of Health First Foundation. Through their generosity and the dedicated stewardship of the resources entrusted to us, the Foundation was able to provide over $2M in Program Services, Special Projects, Scholarships, Education and Clinical Excellence, Indigent Care and Patient Education. This support helped strengthen and expand the lifesaving services offered by Health First. Gifts were used to improve and renovate hospital facilities, purchase life-saving medical equipment and technologies, provide patient wellness information, fund scholarships for clinical education, offer caregiver resources and support, provide grief counseling for children and families who have lost a loved one, as well as ensure access to quality care for indigent patients.
The Health First Foundation is fully backed by the parent company (Health First, Inc.). 100% of funds raised go to direct support in the following areas: Capital Construction and Renovation, Capital Equipment and Technology, Patient Care, Program Services, Special Projects, Education and Clinical Excellence, Indigent Care and Patient Education. In fiscal year 2016, more than 4,200 individuals, foundations, corporation and other organizations supported the mission and vision of Health First Foundation. Through their generosity and dedicated stewardship of the resources entrusted to us, the Foundation was able to provide over $1.6M in program support. This support helped strengthen and expand the lifesaving services offered by Health First. Gifts were used to improve and renovate hospital facilities, purchase life-saving medical equipment and technologies, provide patient wellness information, fund scholarship for clinical education, offer caregiver resources and support, provide grief counseling for children and families who have lost a loved one, as well as ensure access to quality care for indigent patients. Reported expenses include institutional overhead not directly tied to Foundation operations. Expenses also cover funds raised for Holmes Regional Medical Center, Cape Canaveral Hospital, Viera Hospital, Palm Bay Hospital, Hospice of Health First and Aging Services. Nearly 100 volunteers served Health First Foundation in FY16, including 24 community leaders who comprise the Foundation's Board of Trustees. Volunteers lead each of the special events: Benefit Ball, Grape Escape and Golf Classic. In addition, the Health First Auxiliary supports the administrative needs of the Foundation on an as-needed basis, ensuring staff time is used most efficiently for vital fundraising and donor relations activities. Volunteers gave approximately 1,107 hours of their time in FY16, valued at $23,364.63 (Points of Light Value).
